Vancouver Aquarium

I spent and afternoon at Stanley Park and the Vancouver Aquarium getting to know my new camera, Fujifilm X-M5. My previous post shows how I tried all the film simulations that are already set on the dial and I decided I liked the look of Nostalgia Negative and used it for most of the rest of my photos. I haven’t decided if I like the idea of one event all having the same simulation recipe or if I would switch around depending on the subject.

I’m using the lens that came with the camera, Fujinon 15-45mm, 3.5-5.6. It’s fine for now but I would really like to get a 24 or 35mm and a 200mm.

I was at the park on a Saturday so it was very busy and crowded. I found some parking and walked for a bit to get to the Aquarium. The flowers this year have generally been pretty amazing so I took some photos on the way.

The Aquarium was great, my photos are fine. I think I just need to spend some time taking tons of photos. These are a few of my favourites.

I also took a lot of video but it’s not very exciting so I’m not going to post any. I’m not sure how I feel about using the camera for both video and photos. I have been eyeing the InstaGo 360, I really like that you can just wear it and get POV video, but that’s an investment for another day.

Of course I had to end the day with some snacks, cod tacos and a soft serve ice cream. Delicious!
